Rallye Sanremo

Rallye Sanremo

There are less than three months left until the 71st Sanremo Rally and the 39th Sanremo Historic Rally arrive in the City of Flowers. The two competitions will be preceded by the respective reconnaissances on Wednesday 16 October and by the sporting checks on Thursday 17 October. Both highly anticipated events will also represent the conclusion of the Italian Rally Championships, both modern and historical, and will constitute valid tests for the European Championships. For the double rally event, therefore, the best Italian and European specialists in modern and historic rallies will converge in Sanremo.

Until Sunday 20 October the attention of rally enthusiasts from all over Europe will be focused on the City of Flowers. As usual, the organization of both the 71st edition of the Sanremo Rally and the 39th Sanremo Historic Rally will be entrusted to the ACI Ponente Ligure . Sanremo will be the nerve center of the events, hosting the race direction, as well as the technical checks in Piazza Colombo and the assistance park on Lungomare Calvino. And above all the key moments will take place there, for example the start of the two races and the awards podium, which will be held in Corso Imperatrice near the Casino.

The spotlight will also focus on our splendid hinterland, where the most adrenaline-filled moments of the competitions will take place. It is there that the fans eager to witness the exploits of their favorites will gather, while the city will offer the opportunity to admire the rally cars and the great champions up close.

On Friday 18 and Saturday 19 October the protagonists will be the competitors of the Italian Absolute Rally-Sparco Championship , of which Sanremo will count as the seventh and final event and, consequently, decisive for the assignment of the title, being one of the three Italian races that they boast a coefficient of 1.5, the maximum available to participants. The race will also be valid as the sixth and final round (one of the two with a coefficient of 1.5) of the CIAR-Junior, the series established by the Federation to promote the growth of young drivers. Furthermore, the Rallye Sanremo will be valid for: the two single-brand automotive trophies, namely the GR Yaris Rally Cup, organized by Toyota, and the Suzuki Rally Cup; and for the two trophies proposed by tire manufacturers, namely the Trofeo Pirelli Rally Cup and the Michelin Trofeo Italia. Finally, that pinch of internationality represented by the validity of the FIA European Rally Trophy, which includes 13 of the most important continental events, could not be missing.

Before the modern competitors parade on Saturday 19 October in the afternoon in Corso Imperatrice to celebrate their results, the special tests of the crews of the 39th Sanremo Historic Rally will start, a competition valid as the eighth and final round of the CIRAS, which is the Italian Rally Car Championship Historic, for the European Historic Rally Championship 2024 and for the Michelin Historic Trophy.

It is expected that the City of Flowers and the towns in the area will be festively stormed by teams, mechanics, professionals and enthusiasts from all over Europe starting from Thursday 17 October, when the two rallies will officially open their doors. Thanks to autumn in Sanremo, which promises to offer an extension of the summer that is difficult to experience in other places.
