Ariston Theatre: Autumn Events 2024
The autumn 2024 programme of the famous Ariston Theatre in Sanremo promises to be rich and varied, suitable to satisfy all the tastes of the always numerous public.
Thursday 7th November
It will begin on Thursday, November 7 with an exceptional star: Antonio Albanese in the one-man-show “Personaggi” , which over time has been embellished with new masks created by the actor. What do the different figures, which serve to describe the present, have in common? Humanity. Epifanio, the Optimist, the Sommelier, Cetto La Qualunque, Alex Drastico and Perego are examples of our society, familiar faces that can be found in the neighbor, in the brotherly friend, in ourselves. We will go from the immigrant incapable of integrating in the North to the entrepreneur, who toils 16 hours a day, from the seraphic sommelier in decanting the wine to the dishonest political candidate, from the visionary inhabitant of a perfect planet to the dreams of the tender Epifanio.
Each one will show us the neuroses, the alienation, the emotional disintegration of the family and the current ideological void. On stage men from the South and the North, tall and short, fat and thin, nabobs and poor, optimists and indifferent, irreverent and grotesque portraits of a reality observed with a careful eye to capture its defects, maniacal habits and tics. A gallery of antiheroes, who reveal obsessions, fears, delusions of omnipotence and shortcuts, but in the end poetry will find a place in a way that is consistent with Albanese's thought: "Laughter is an embrace, a need that will always be there".
Friday 8th November
The free-entry “Sanremo Music Business” workshop will take place on Friday, November 8th from 9:00 to 16:30. The first event focused on the music business was born from an idea by Raffaella Sottile and Massimo Bonelli and will take the form of a training day to gather strategies and suggestions from enthusiasts and experts in the sector in order to obtain a successful positioning in the current showbiz.
An innovative and effective working method will be presented, which also leverages some key concepts of marketing applied to music. “Sanremo Music Business” is also an educational project aimed at schools from Primary to University as an orientation in the professions that operate behind the scenes of the show.
Monday 11th November
On Monday, November 11, “Michael – The Show in Orchestra” will take place , an authentic journey through time and music. We will hear timeless hits such as “Thriller”, “Billie Jean” and “Beat it”, while Michael Jackson will seem to come back to life, played by the Brazilian Wendel Gama, who boasts more than 4 million followers on social media. The extraordinary guitarist Jennifer Batten, who played with the king of pop on his major tours, will perform with him.
Every movement, every gesture is intended to be a respectful tribute to the great artist who passed away prematurely. A magical atmosphere will be created thanks to a powerful live band, which will faithfully reproduce Michael Jackson's iconic arrangements, to which a live orchestra will be added. Finally, the skillfully choreographed dance troupe will recreate his legendary performances on stage.
Thursday November 14th
The long-awaited Ligabue concert will take place on Thursday, November 14. 13 years later, Liga is treating fans to a new tour in the most prestigious theaters in Italy, exclusive intimate locations, to retrace the past, live the present and imagine the future of those “rock'n'roll dreams” that built his career.
“Ligabue in teatro – Dedicato a noi” features a group of musicians made up of: Federico Poggipollini, who has accompanied him on guitar for 30 years, Davide Pezzin on bass, Luciano Luisi on keyboards and Lenny Ligabue, Luciano's firstborn, who played drums on the album that gives the tour its title.
Thursday 21 November
Thursday, November 21st will be the turn of Pink Floyd Legend in “The dark side of the moon”. In addition to the complete performance of the 1973 masterpiece album, Legend will propose the other most beloved songs of the English band, animated by the original videos of the time.
The Italian band, recognized by critics and the public as the best interpreters of Pink Floyd songs, is composed of Fabio Castaldi (vocals and bass), Alessandro Errichetti (vocals and guitars), Simone Temporali (vocals and keyboards), Paolo Angioi (vocals, guitars and bass) and Emanuele Esposito (drums). The ensemble is completed by backing singers Giorgia Zaccagni, Claudia Marss and Daphne Nisi Mete and Maurizio Leoni on solo saxophone.
Saturday 23 November
On Saturday, November 23, the Georgian National Ballet Sukhishvili will be hosted , the pride of Georgia. They have called it “The 8th wonder of the world”, “Best Broadway show”, “Hurricane on stage”, “Magic of Georgia”, “Unique phenomenon”, “Dangerous dances of georgian men” and “Perfect work of art”, because the artists are perfect in the execution of what is not a dance, but a flight. Immediately after its foundation, the Sukhishvili ballet troupe began to perform on world tours, exceeding 90 million people who have seen their live show. There are 300 stages a year.
The collection of the Georgian National Ballet includes a variety of traditional costumes for more than 150 dances, made of natural fabrics and decorated with embroidery, paintings, appliques, glitter and stones. Originally they were made by the famous painter Soliko Versaldze (1908-1989), now by the costume designer and director Nino Sukhishvili. Last but not least, the orchestra should be mentioned, equipped with special musical instruments and a technique passed down from generation to generation.
November 29-30 and December 1
The weekend of November 29th and 30th and December 1st will be entirely reserved for “Alis theatre – Le cirque world top performers”, 3 evenings and 2 hours of breathtaking circus without interruptions and without animals. Alis is an amazing show, which continues to enchant adults and children. It has been acclaimed by critics and already applauded by over 350 thousand enthusiastic people. It is presented by Le cirque world top performers, the largest company in Europe made up of the best artists of contemporary circus, together for the first time in a unique show.
A stellar cast, 24 phenomenal athletes engaged in aerial and ground numbers as well as in the most varied disciplines: acrobats, jugglers, tightrope walkers and musicians. They come from the Cirque du Soleil, the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival and the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain in Paris. Alis will be a succession of exciting atmospheres inspired by “Alice in Wonderland” and the fantastic literature of the nineteenth century.
Tuesday 3 December
On Tuesday 3 December, especially young people will be involved in the musical “Mare Fuori”. Rosa Ricci (Maria Esposito), Dobermann (Enrico Tijani), Totò (Antonio Orefice), Micciarella (Giuseppe Pirozzi), Milos (Antonio D'Aquino) are the very popular protagonists of the TV series of the same name, who will return in the theatrical adaptation. With them also Nunzia (Carmen Pommella), one of the guards. The singer-songwriter Andrea Sannino is instead one of the surprises of the cast. The location is the juvenile prison of Nisida, where the life of the boys inside a penitentiary institution is narrated. Behind the bars you can see a free and immense sea, a kind of mirage. Detention is even harder looking at the sea outside.
The reasons that led the minors to prison will be discovered: the family destroyed in its fundamental values, the fight between gangs and mocking delinquency. A sort of burned youth, daughter of a bitter and unacceptable destiny, but on the other side friendship, brotherhood and love. Yet no one will ever be serene, because everything could suddenly change.
Friday 6th December
On Friday 6 December Mauro Repetto will go “In Search of Spider-Man”. In 1988 he founded 883 together with Max Pezzali, writing with him the songs that have become milestones of Italian music. Today Mauro is no longer the blond boy who jumped left and right, but finally sings and reveals the story of 883, tells of his escape from our country in search of happiness and his return. The show will be a journey through the notes and video clips of three generations.
Friday 13th December
“ Faded Soul” is the title of the concert by Amedeo Minghi, scheduled for Friday, December 13. Maestro Minghi's theater tour resumes, and he will go on stage accompanied by a string sextet and a group composed of Luca Perroni on piano, Giandomenico Anellino on guitar, Alessandro Mazza on bass, Stefano Marazzi on drums and the voices of Rosy Messina and Giordano Spadafora.
Born in 1947, singer-songwriter and composer, during his career he has written unforgettable pieces for colleagues such as Mietta, Mia Martini, Anna Oxa, Andrea Bocelli, Franco Califano, Rita Pavone, Marcella Bella and Ricchi e Poveri. In addition, he has participated 8 times in the Sanremo Festival, reaching the podium in 1990 in third place with “Vattene amore” in a duet with Mietta.
