Sanremo Marathon 2025

The seventh edition of the Sanremo Marathon will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, covering 42 km and 195 m between sky and sea, along the spectacular scenery that will begin at the Sanremo Casino and wind through the City of Flowers and the coastal park of the Riviera dei Fiori, passing through Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure, Santo Stefano al Mare, and Ospedaletti.

Please note: there are still 50 spots available, so registration is open. On the weekend of December 6th and 7th, you can also take part in the competitive 21 km race, the non-competitive 10 km race, the Family Run for adults and children, and the non-competitive Ospedaletti Run 5 km: a great celebration of sport and tourism!

This year, registrations have reached a record level. Over 3,000 athletes will participate, a number that exceeds all expectations and confirms the high quality of the event and the positive outcome, not only in terms of sporting performance but also in terms of significant revenue for accommodation and retail businesses, as well as significant visibility for the beauty of our region. A total of 35 nations will be represented: Italy, the United Kingdom, France, Turkey, Ukraine, Norway, Sweden, Moldova, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, Mexico, Russia, Australia, Morocco, Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, China, Argentina, Finland, Canada, Latvia, Brazil, Andorra, Colombia, Romania, Greece, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, and the Principality of Monaco.

The technical portion of the Sanremo Marathon will be handled by Pro San Pietro Sanremo . Many well-known names will compete in a competition that promises to be adrenaline-filled. Italian runner Catherine Bertone , who boasts a record at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will participate in the marathon. At the 2017 Berlin Marathon, she set a W45 masters world record of 2:28:34. The half marathon will feature top-level runners such as Giuseppe Carbone, Romualdo Pisano, Cristiano Salerno, Paola Noli (winner of the 2023 Sanremo Marathon, first Italian overall at the 2025 Sydney Marathon, and third at the 2025 Parma Marathon), Alessia Basso, and Blerina Bregu (third at the 2024 Sanremo Half Marathon). Among the local athletes starting the 10km race are Alessandro Castagnino, Maurizio Ferratusco, and Michele Chiefari.

The Sanremo and Ospedaletti races will be preceded, on both Saturday and Sunday, by a special warm-up led by Sarah Giomi , an international ultramarathon runner, psychologist, and Inspire Academy breathing coach. This is a unique opportunity to prepare body and mind with tailored exercises. On Sunday, Sarah will be joined by Leonardo Pelagotti , a former national gymnast, who will run the 21 km competitive race breathing only through his nose, with his mouth taped, to raise awareness of the importance of functional breathing in endurance events. The initiative is free and open to all.

Finally, the official medal of the 2025 Sanremo Marathon, still tied to the local area and now a collector's item, will be dedicated to one of the symbols of the City of Flowers, the famous statue of Spring . This edition will have the slogan "Spring runs in Sanremo."
