Sanremoinfiore 2025
In Sanremo, on Sunday 16 March 2025 at 10:30 the “Festival of Flowers” will blossom with the famous Corso Fiorito. Not just the Sanremo Festival! Another prestigious and eagerly awaited event is scheduled for mid-March: the splendid parade of floats made with fresh flowers , from 20 thousand to 50 thousand for each individual float. Sanremoinfiore is the event that traditionally follows the Italian Song Festival, both in terms of dates and tourist relevance. The secret of the success, which has grown from edition to edition, of the “Festa della Dea Flora” is that of knowing how to renew itself while keeping intact the spirit of celebrating spring since 1904.
Show within the show, accompanying the Floats Flowered bands, folk groups, majorettes and street artists, for a lively and colorful kermesse. It is advisable to book one of the hotels in Sanremo for the Corso Fiorito 2025 for the entire weekend well in advance, so as not to miss the intense program of collateral events planned for 4 days starting from Thursday 13 March, including the “Vetrine in fiore” competition and the traditional parade of bands on Saturday 15 March from 4:30 pm through the streets and squares of the center. The grand finale will consist of the assault on the floats by the public, to win a fragrant souvenir.
Theme 2025 “Riviera dei Fiori – Garden of Europe” . The participants are 11 Municipalities of the province of Imperia, where floriculture is deeply rooted:
- Santo Stefano al Mare with Austria – “Romantic Page”,
- Dolceacqua with Holland – “Tulips and Windmills”,
- Taggia with France – “Une fleur pour mon amour”,
- Bordighera with Sweden – “Journey to the Sun”,
- Riva Ligure with Germany – “Flowering Harmonies”,
- Ospedaletti with Belgium – “Festival in technicolor”,
- Diano Marina with Denmark – “A flower for my castle”,
- Vallecrosia together with Camporosso with Italy – “Europe in Bloom”,
- Ventimiglia with Switzerland – “Appointment on the Riviera” and Pompeiana with Spain – “Spanish Palette”.
Out of competition is the Sanremo float dedicated to the 120 years of the Municipal Casino (its construction can be followed live on the solettone of Piazza Colombo). The floats stand out for their original interpretation of the theme, for the creativity used in the set-up and for the attention to detail. These are all elements taken into consideration by the quality jury to establish the podium. The circular route will wind along the Italo Calvino seafront, the Carlo Dapporto square and a large stretch of the cycle path up to the Vittorio Veneto gardens.
Sanremoinfiore represents an unmissable rendezvous for thousands of people, including those – an average of 60 thousand – who come to the City of Flowers to enjoy the show live and those who watch the live TV broadcast of 'Linea Verde', broadcast by Rai Uno. For this reason, the Municipality has decided to expand the event with the "Festival of Flowers". The event will begin on Thursday with the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mario Calvino at Crea, where a photographic exhibition dedicated to him will be set up. Free shuttles will be made available to reach the institute, which will depart from the Forte di Santa Tecla. At 11 a conference open to the public will be held on the pioneer of floriculture and father of the famous writer.
At the Forte di Santa Tecla, the exhibition “I fiori delle Regine” will be open to visitors: the structure will be decorated like a real royal palace, which will host 8 Queens important for European history, for whom their favorite flowers have been chosen. In the Forte, you can also admire the exhibitions “Il presepe dei fiori di Ermanno ed Ester Moro” (on which a conference will be held at 3:30 pm on Friday 14 March, while at 3 pm on Saturday the conference “I fiori nelle pratiche dei Cappuccini Liguri dell'Ottocento, tra fede e natura” will be held) and “Arte in fiore” with the watercolors of Silvana Rava, an internationally renowned botanical painter.
The project “Floræ: stories of travel, flowers and discoveries” will embellish via Matteotti, piazza Borea d'Olmo, the historic center, la Pigna and the Casino with compositions inspired by female figures who have left a mark on the world of flowers and plants, starting with the adopted Sanremo resident Eva Mameli Calvino.
The Casino will be the ideal place to host “La Casa del Fiore”, an exhibition of new varieties (cut flowers, foliage, potted plants) from local hybridizers. The conference “Workshop del fiore: dal passato al futuro, la floricoltura sanremo e l'eredità di Mario Calvino” (Flower Workshop: from the past to the future, the floriculture of Sanremo and the legacy of Mario Calvino) is scheduled for Friday at 2:30 p.m., followed at 6 p.m. by the concert “Classicismo luminosa di due compositi” (Bright Classicism of Two Compositions) by the Sanremo Symphony Orchestra. Finally, on Saturday, the “Gran Gala dei Fiori” (Great Flower Gala) will be held at the Biribissi restaurant in the casino.
The former railway station will also be among the locations featured during the weekend, both with the installation “Il treno dei fiori”, which will recall the times when flower growers with their characteristic wicker baskets on board the Bianchina delivered flowers to the train for Northern Europe, and with the Club Tenco’s guided tours of the exhibition on the 50 years of the Rassegna della Canzone d’Autore (from Friday to Sunday at 4 pm). Last but not least, on Saturday evening at the Ariston Theatre, Massimo Ranieri’s concert “Tutti i sogni ancora in volo” will be on the programme, and on Sunday at 6 pm at the Tenco venue, Olden’s free concert “La sforza e la pazienza tour”.
